About Cisco, TX - Happy to be your hometown Heating & Air Conditioning Contractor!
Located in central Texas big county, Cisco is located 105 miles westward from Fort Worth and around 45 miles to the east of Abilene. The city can be found at the intersection of U.S. Highway 183 and Interstate 20 in the northwestern Eastland County. With a total area of 4.9 square miles, Cisco is home to 3,899 residents according to the 2010 census.
Texas and Pacific Railway led to the foundation of this town in 1881. Named after a New York railroad-financier, John A. Cisco, the town benefited a lot from the petroleum boom of the 20s. Its strong economic roots are still visible in the present day bustling commerce of the city. Perhaps Cisco’s biggest claim to fame is the first ever Hilton Hotel started in 1919 by Conrad Hilton.
Today the premier Hilton Hotel is turned into Conrad N. Hilton Memorial Park and Community Center. It offers interesting historical facts and news clippings about the town of Cisco and the main Texas country. You can find out how the great oil boom turned the residents’ fortune and how the largest swimming pool in the world made Cisco famous.
Cisco and the surrounding areas are home to many great parks like Cisco City Park that offers camping, walking and hiking opportunities. The Fishing Lake Cisco is located five miles north of Cisco. It offers fishing and boating among other activities. The Cisco RV park allows campers to enjoy the tranquil outdoors. When it comes to education, Cisco is served by Cisco Independent School District. An affordable two-year college by the name of Cisco College offers higher education opportunities to the residents.
With 29 inches of rain and 3 inches of snow every year, Cisco gets 247 sunny days a year. A dependable air conditioner in your home is necessary to weather the scorching heat of Cisco summer. The temperature can soar up to 94 degrees in summer. The winters are cold with temperature dropping as low as 32 degrees. If you want to survive the bone-freezing cold unscathed, a nifty heat pump is essential.
